Intraday Calls

Review of the Last Intraday:

During previous intraday the Nifty moved in a range of 58 points. The Share Bazaar closed 130 points negative at 6136, after making an intraday high and low of 6188 and 6130 respectively. Yesterday, European indices were weak. FTSE was down 113 points, CAC was down 17 points, and DAX was down 43 points. US markets were down. Dow Jones closed down 41 points, S&P 500 was down 9 points, and Nasdaq was down by 45 points.

FII and DII Activity in Last Intraday:

On the last trading day, FIIs sold Rs. 1334 crores in cash segment while DIIs bought Rs. 151 crores in cash. FIIs sold Rs. 568 crores in Index futures and FIIs bought Rs. 1648 crores in index options. In stock futures FIIs sold Rs. 579 crores and in stock options FIIs sold Rs. 14 crores. This is the provisional data from NSE. Here you can view final data from SEBI. 

Options Segment Activity:

In f&o market, January series options data tells that, Nifty 6200 call adds 29.5 lac shares and 6250 call adds 10 lac shares. Nifty 6300 put sheds 22.3 lac shares and 6200 put sheds 15.3 shares. Highest OI of 52.9 lac shares is at 6300 call and 42.4 lac shares is at 6100 put. According to options data, Bears have upper hand on bears. 

  

Currency Market:

In the currency market the USDINR closed at 63.10. The INR was weak by 0.44 paisa.

Beginning of the Day:

Today morning, Asian markets are trading flat. Nikkei is up 77 points, Hang Seng is up 40 points Taiwan is closed, and Kospi is up by 4 points. Today Nifty opened at 6131 down 4 points and made an intraday high 6157 and low of 6130 till 10:28 a.m. Today during market hours RBI will announce its credit policy.

Mid-day Review:

Nifty is at 6118 down 17 points. Nifty made an intraday high of 6163 and low of 6086 till 1:12 p.m. Top gainers for Nifty are TATASTEEL, RANBAXY, and HINDALCO whereas losers are LUPIN, AXISBANK, and SUNPHARMA. Intraday Options Data:

On the options front, Nifty 6100 call adds 14.4 lac shares and 6150 call adds 5.9 lac shares. Nifty 6100 put adds 6 lac shares. RBI has surprised everyone by raising the repo rate and MSF by 25 basis point.
